<title>Let the World welcome Alice!</title>
<description>Here are couple of pictures of my newborn Alice.

She was born on 15 September, 2006
Height 40 cm
Weight 1700 g

Alice was born 7 months old (not 9 months old as most of babies) so she is currently at the hospital. I hope she will be out healthy and happy in a week time.

It took me and my husband almost a month to decide about the right name for a baby. It is not easy as in Russia you can chose only one name. We also wanted the name to sound nice at least in English. Couple of names were rejected by the sole reason that they did not sound in English. For example, Nastya (which apparantly sounds like &#x22;nasty&#x22; in English), Lada (which is associated with Russian car).

<title>Wedding party</title>
<description>Traditional parts of the wedding party in Russia:
1. A lot of guests
2. A lot of drinks
3. Guests can make bride and bridegroom kiss each other by shouting &#x22;Gor&#x27;ko! Gor&#x27;ko!&#x22;
4. A lot of toasts
5. Funny games for younger guests
6. Some of guests steel the bride and than ask the bridegroom to buy her back. As a rule he is asked to do several funny things.

<title>Nadya and Denis wedding in St.Petersburg</title>
<description>We are not religious couple so we decided to have only civil ceremony.

Russian modern civil wedding in St.Petersburg.
Typical scenario. Our wedding was more or less a free version of this scenario ;)
Before the wedding
0. Two people find each other on the Earth and fall in love.
1. One month before the ceremony or earlier the couple comes to registration office and provide a receipt (200 RUR = 7 USD), passports and application form.
2. Girls party and boys party is organised by both parties. It is not very strong tradition.
Wedding day
1. Bridegroom is coming to bride&#x27;s parents house to take the bride from there.
2. From early in the morning the bride is getting ready for the ceremony - make-up, dress, etc. Normally couple of girlfriends are invited to help.
3. Parents, brides, friends go the civil office for the ceremony. In our case it was Central Palace of Wedding Registration.
4. Ceremony normally takes around 20 min. An official tells the couple all kinds of nice words about family, love, trust and so on. Bride and bridegroom sign the official paper. Afterwards two witnesses (normally friends) sign the document. Than bride and bridegroom exchange rings and kiss.
5. Traditional trip around St.Petersburg: Vasil Island, Monument to Peter the Great, Palace square. The itinerary can be slightly different.
6. Party.

<title>Lvov.</title>
<description>There is a very beautiful opera building in Lvov. Lvov citizens think it is the most beautiful in Europe. I am not sure, but it is indeed very beautiful and harmonious building. Have a lokk and pictures and decide by yourself. </description>
